Our 2nd year hurling team which comprised of both 1st and 2nd year players played Ashbourne Community School in Longwood GAA pitch this week. The game was played in ideal conditions with both teams giving a very good account of themselves. The first half was a very tight affair and at half time Longwood led by 2 points. The second half continued in the same vein with both teams trading points in the early stages. Unfortunately Ashbourne got a decisive goal and pushed on in the final 5 minutes to win on a scoreline of 3:9 to 0:9. In the end, the scoreline did not reflect how close this game was, well done to all who togged out on the day and we look forward to better days in the future.
