Ms. Glynn’s 5th Year Mini-company class attended the educational workshop hosted by “The Chocolate Warehouse” in Dublin.
The visit consisted of an informative talk on the organization and the work practices of a modern food manufacturing business in addition to a thought provoking account of the opportunities and challenges facing the confectionary industry in Ireland, at the present time. The students learned about the growing, harvesting and processing of cocoa beans from raw materials to finished products.The class also participated in a hands-on session in which students had an opportunity to show their creative talents by applying their own individual design to some of the company’s key products.Following an impressive performance in the table quiz that followed, each student was presented with a Certificate at the end of the workshop. Congratulations and well done to all involved. Ms Glynn would like to thank Mr. Gorry for accompanying the class on the trip.
