To mark “Climate Action Week” the Green Schools Committee held a pledge competition in English and Irish to encourage the school community to think green. Students and staff got involved with an array of thoughtful pledges entered from giving up hair straighteners, using keep cups, ditching using plastic and making efforts to put waste in the correct bins. The winners were Ms Durkan from the teacher’s pledge box, T.J Hopkins for the English entry and Emily Bowes for the Irish entry. Pictured are Green Schools Committee members Ciara Shields and Jessy Sanny busy judging the pledges. The Green Schools Committee alongside P.E. teacher Ms Roche are currently marking out a 1k walkway around the school to encourage the school community to walk more. Well done to all involved!
