On Tuesday the junior girls Gaelic team travelled to Stamullen where they competed against 5 other schools for the Leinster LGFA final. The girls lost 2 matches to begin with which put a damper on their mood. After an inspirational team talk from their captain Molly McLaughin they had fire in their belly’s and secured 2 great wins in the second half of the blitz. We had some fantastic saves pulled off by Aisling Alawiye which lifted the girls’ spirits and helped them on the road to victory! We are so proud of the girls as they came 2nd in the blitz as this is a massive achievement for them as it is the first ladies Gaelic team to compete from Coláiste Clavin and have no doubt that this is only the beginning of their winning streak. A special thanks is deserved for Ella O’Donnell, Aoife O’Shea and Millie Cunningham who travelled with Ms. Prendergast to the match and acted as great support on the sideline, offering words of encouragement and advice throughout the day. Ms. Prendergast and the rest of the staff at Coláiste Clavin are so proud of these young women as they showed great determination all year with training after school regardless of the weather. We have no doubts that in the years to come that these young ladies will be representing their county and making us proud yet again. Coláiste Clavin abú!
