Today we had our Awards Cermony where Students were acknowledged for their hard work, dedication and excellent attendance. On Friday we had a Sports Day and Barbecue in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland. Eventhough the weather wasn’t great, it didn’t dampen Students enthusiam. Pictured are some of our 6th Years enjoying themselves before they have to face into their Leaving Cert.
On Wednesday 29th April some of our Junior Cert Students travelled to Slane Castle to attend the Young Historian of the Year and the Francis Ledwidge Poetry Awards. Last Thursday 5th Year Geography Students visited the Burren and Black Head in Co. Clare. While there they visited Alliwee Cave that is home to several calcite structures including stalactities etc. They also visited Black Head that had a huge limestone pavement down to the sea and had evidence of isostatic movement. Congratulations to Shauna Callaghan of 2B, whose poem ‘The Sniper’ won LMETB Overall Junior Poem of the Year. Shauna beat off plenty of competition from Louth and Meath to deservedly claim the award at the awards ceremony at Slane Castle. Well done Shauna!
