Home Economics Students carried out a Fashion Project 1st prize : Evan Howell with a Beautiful Presentation on 1950’s Fashion to include Handmade pieces. 2nd prize: Katie Black, Ruth Buckley & Annie Finnegan with a Presentation on Make up. 3rd prize: Luke Crumpton & Dean Cunningham with a Presentation on 1980’s Fashion.

5th Years Students received a talk on Tuesday from AWARE called “Beat the Blues” on managing their mental health. This talk which was rescheduled after the snow from “Wellbeing” week, centred around providing students with practical strategies to cope with stress in their lives. 

Colaiste Clavin’s School Drama group are busy preparing for their staging of “Check Please” by Johnathan Rand a Comedy about the trials and tribulations of the dating world. Home Economics students were asked to re create this project showing the amount of sugar found is Soft Drinks and Sweet Treats. Both Megan Malone and Molly Bright were instrumental in calculating the quantities of sugar present in these foods. We hope that it will encourage our school community to make healthier snack choices.

As part of Wellbeing Week Hannah Lilly Of ‘The Joy Project’ gave a Talk to 3rd and 6th Years on mental fitness and resilience. She gave them simple techniques to cope with stress and to build their resilience as they go through life.

Students of 2nd and 5th Year Spanish Classes created Posters for St Patrick’s Day through Spanish. Ms Darii also promoted the link between Spain and Ireland throughout history. Pictured are some 2nd Year Spanish Students standing outside the Spanish room with some posters in the background.     

1st Year JCSP Sudents took part in the JCSP initiative “Make a Book” on March 16th in the Ardboyne Hotel in Navan. This involved students making a project and a series of books. The students chose the topic of ‘’Positivity”. The information from each project was then compiled into books/calendars. All of the work was done by

The 2B CSPE Class got to visit the busiest Garda Station in Ireland and while there they learnt about the work of the Gardai inside and outside the Station. They also got to met members of the ASU and learn more about their work and see all their weapons.

As part of Wellbeing week the whole School participated in Drop Everything and Colour (DEAC) which is mindful colouring to help reduce stress.
