A talk was given by Graham Mulhern of BeSecureOnline and 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th year Students attended their own session. It was organised by HPS as part of Wellbeing Week and covered topics ranging from social media, privacy settings, online bullying and sexting to online profiles and reputation.

Members of the Green School Committee attended the Green Schools Expo on Thursday the 22nd February in the R.D.S. with Ms Shine. The Expo showcased the different themes that Green Schools works with such as litter and waste, energy, water and travel. An enjoyable and informative day was had by all. 

Louise Connolly (5B) represented Coláiste Clavin at an Award Ceremony at the School of Busines  Maynooth University on Tuesday 30th January.  Louise, Jenna McQuaid (5C) and Matthew Healy (5A) won recognition for excellence in their Business Studies in their Junior Certificate Exam.  Each Student received an individual certificate and the Award has pride of place in

  A massive thank you to everyone who contributed to the Gaelic Voices for Change Solidarity Sleepout in aid of the homeless which Mr. Moore took part in. A  bucket collection held in school raised a fantastic €500 for various homeless charities.  The sleepouts took place all over Ireland and Internationally in various locations such as Dublin, Cork,

The Principal presented Certs and boxes of chocolates to the winners of the Positive Mental Health Art / Photo Competition. 1st Place = Katie Daly 1st Year (Pictured on the right); 2nd Place =  Emily Healy 2nd Year (Pictured on the left) and 3rd Place = Aoife Dixon 1st Year (pictured in the middle)  

Some 1st, 2nd and 5th Year Classes took part in Green Schools themed workshops aimed at making Students think about Climate Change. Students got involved in the highly interactive workshops by bringing in bikes for the workshops and pedaling their bikes for the duration of the workshops. On Friday there were lots of fun activities organised from carol singing, tournaments (winners of the indoor Gaelic football pictured), festive baking etc. We wish the whole School Community a Happy Christmas.

Ms. Purcell’s 6th Year Geography Class visited Tara Mines outside Navan for their study of “Human Interaction with the Rock Cycle” Physical Question. They were given a guided tour of the site and students enjoyed an informative trip on the operations of Tara Mines and mining in Ireland. Hopefully the tour will help them if the Question is
