2B CSPE Students visited the Irish Aid Centre as part of their Action Project on Development for their Junior Cert  

The 1st Year JCSP students took part in the ‘Make a Book’ Exhibition held in the Heritage hotel in Portlaoise today. Students had to display and talk about their stories that they created under the theme of ‘ twisted fairytales’. The students were presented with Certs and were treated to a captivating performance by storyteller

Today 2nd Year Geography Students visited Mount Lucas Wind Farm. While there they were given first an informative presentation on the Wind Farm, then they had a virtual tour inside a wind turbine using VR headsets and before leaving they went to an actual wind turbine to get up close. 

Mr O’Connell’s 1st Year History Students showcased some of their Ancient Roman Newspapers. The young Historians became Journalists, as they created both digital and more traditional forms of newspapers.

The Green Schools Committee are working alongside Travel Officer Lorraine Flanagan to try to achieve the Green Schools Travel Flag. Members of the Committee conducted a travel audit in Longwood in November and Lorraine held a follow up session in February in Longwood so that the Committee could write up a report to be sent
