On Thursday we had a fun Christmas Day in School where the School was awash with christmas jumpers and cheer. Different activities had been organised by the School Council and Ms Farrell. Ms O’Donnells 2A CSPE Class completed a sponsored 5km walk in November around Longwood . Students raised money through the raffle lines to win a coffee machine and also selling dogs trust wrist bands, pins and Christmas cards . Students will be visiting the dogs trust to present the raised money.

Ms O’Donnell’s 3rd Year Spanish Class went to the Film Institute in Dublin to see “La Oliva” , the story of a young girl who travels with her grandfather in search of an Olive tree.

Despite the bitter weather, 1st Year History Students completed a mock archaeological dig. Various “artefacts” were discovered and Students had to describe and analysis them. It was a great experience “in the Field”.

Last Sunday Mr O’Connell’s 6th Year English Students attended the “Plough and the Stars” at the Solstice Theatre in Navan. Despite being in the front row all agreed it was a wonderful production and will greatly aid their knowledge of the play for their Leaving Cert Exam.

Ms O’Rafferty ran a cyber bullying project for both Junior and Senior Students in which they did an online interactive quiz following a clip from the internet. In the quiz, the Students were rated on “Are you a Responsible Digital Citizen”. Dearbhail O’ Neill 3rd Year got 167/100 proving herself to go beyond her call
As part of the IFI French Film Festival, Ms Murray’ s Third Year French Class went to view a film called Miss Impossible ‘Jamais Content’ the winner of this year’s European Young Audience Award.
