Some 6th years took part in Gaeilge 24 on Wednesday 16th of November. The students involved spoke Gaeilge for 24 hours. Lots of activities were organised trí Ghaeilge. Bhí an-chraic againn.

On Friday Ms Purcell’s 6th Year Geography Class visited Tara Mines in Navan as part of their study on mining. They were given a guided tour of the site and the Students found the tour very informative and hope it will be on their exam paper in June.
Many Christmas Shoeboxes were prepared by Ms Guilfoyle and the Students of Colaiste Clavin for the Team Hope Shoebox Appeal. These shoeboxes will be sent to the needy children around the World. Our minor soccer team drew 3-3 with Beaufort Navan last Friday. Two goals from Aedan Boyle and one from Tadhg Connolly put Longwood on their way to victory, only to concede twice in last five minutes. Hopefully lessons learned, as the Minors go forward to another game at the end of the month.

U-16 hurlers had a great win over St. Pats of Navan recently. In a very well contested game Colaiste Clavin came out on top on a scoreline of 5-7 to 3-9. We led throughout after a blistering start which left the scoreline at 2-2 to 0-0 after ten minutes. St. Pats put up a very good fight

Our senior soccer team beat Columba College Killucan 6-2 in the first round of the U19 FAI Leinster Schools ‘B’ Cup. The scorers were Jamie Boyle, Amir Curran, Basit Sanni and Gavin Griffith scored 2.

Today the Principal presented Liam Cullen Moran 5A with a special plaque in recognition of him achieving the best Junior Cert Results in his Year Group. Liam sat the Higher Paper in all his subjects and achieved 5As and 4Bs.

The 3C CSPE Class took part in the Conservation Module run by Dublin Zoo on Friday with their teacher Ms Murray. Endangered species are at risk due to habitat loss from deforestation and poaching. Dublin Zoo is part of the European Zoo Breeding Programme for endangered species.
